"The Inner Child" Retreat
4th to 6th April 2025
Early Bird booking 1st Dec to 31st Jan
We are excited to announce that we are offering a Retreat focusing on our Inner Child in April 2025. The weekend will be a time to focus on who your inner child is, what role they play and have played in your life and how you can build a relationship that is beneficial to you both. Whether you are well versed in inner child work or are completely new to the term, the weekend will have something for you to learn from and take away. We anticipate there being interest from a range of people both for personal and professional reasons and welcome both.
We are also really proud to be offering a soundbath as part of this weekend and using sound therapy as part of the whole experience.
Geraldine and Cathy from Transcend Trauma will be facilitating sessions. Our information can be found in the "About Us" page here on our website. In Summary, Geraldine is a BACP accredited counsellor with 17 years experience working with trauma and dissociation. Cathy has over 20 years experience working with trauma as a therapeutic social worker, within CAMHS and other organisations. She also has lived experience which adds a different perspective to their work.
We are joined by Harie Graham of Rezenance Sound Therapy for the Sound Baths offered on both Saturday and Sunday
The Saturday sound retreat session is designed to support & nurture your inner child.
The Rezenance studio is situated on the high street, in a cosy space with everything provided & all you have to do is arrive, lie down on the comfy mats, close your eyes & allow yourself to bathe in the soothing soundwaves.
You will be immersed in the gentle tones and harmonies of crystal & alchemy singing bowls - all chosen for their special heart frequencies & carefully designed into a harmonious session to help transport you to a place of calm & relaxation, where tension can melt away and you can find a place of inner peace.
The Sunday sound retreat session is designed to be uplifting & to recharge your body, mind & spirit.
The tones and vibrations of Himalayan singing bowls are often described as feeling like we are being given a ‘sonic cuddle’.
These will be played around the body to create an energising lift to your day and add some sparkle to your vibrational energy.
We have all heard of our Inner Child, but how well do we really know them? How much time have we genuinely offered them? What if that child was wounded, silenced or hurt in some way? What is the impact in our lives today, and what can we do to help them heal?
Over this weekend retreat we will gently explore what our inner child wants to share and how we can support them to do this safely. We will look at the different aspects of our inner children and what we can learn from them.
We will also spend time thinking about what fuels them and how we can become more empowered to work with them.
We will use the sound therapy to embed the learning we have embarked upon over the weekend, which should be both relaxing and enlightening.
Sessions will include areas such as creativity, communicating with the inner child, reparenting, understanding the role of the inner child and looking at the impact of childhood trauma and adversity on the adult self.
There will be an informal meet up on the Friday evening, full day of sessions followed by the sound bath on Saturday and then full day on Sunday of activities. Time will be made for the learning to embed.

The Retreat
Our retreats are designed with the whole person in mind. We know that the effects of trauma are wide reaching and impact many, if not all, areas of your life. At our Retreat, we invite you to spend 2 days with us and other group members, affording yourself time to focus on your own healing.
We have arranged for the Retreat to be in Sidmouth, where you have the sea, the river, and the "Byes" all within walking distance, allowing the peace and beauty of the environment to add to the learning we do together.
The Retreat is priced as attendance, materials and light refreshments included. This is done so that you can select accommodation from the vast array locally that suits your budget, and your personal preference. We are happy to provide recommendations and details. New for 2025 we have an accommodation included option for those who would rather we make arrangements locally.
We welcome bookings from individuals, or small groups. Each Retreat will be offered to 8 to 15 people, keeping this a small and safe environment.
The Retreat programme will be provided before arrival. Each Retreat is slightly different as we tailor sessions to the goals of those attending, and taking into account any previous workshops participants may have attended.
Sessions are organised to encourage a journey, and building towards rebuilding, restoring, and rewriting your life beyond the trauma, dissociation and the impacts.
Healing Workshops
Healing workshops are for everyone. They are offered both online and in person in East Devon. We believe that these workshops allow you to build self care and development into your schedule throughout the year. The material covered in workshops is different to that in the Retreat, as many people will choose to do a combination of both.
Some of our workshops include:
Understanding Trauma and the Brain - What does it mean for me? Learning about how the brain responds in times of trauma and why will assist in reducing shame, making sense of our instinctive responses and empower you to learn to soothe yourself and retrain your alarm system. This can also be helpful if you live or care for someone who experienced trauma.
Fragmented Self - Do you or someone you know have multiple parts, alters, selves? Here we look at why this may have happened, and what "integration" actually means. With first hand experience of living and working with parts this workshop provides a useful 360 degree view.
Dissociation and Me - Why do we dissociate anyway? We think about why this has been helpful, to what extent we can change this, and think about how we might do this.ext.
Who am I now? - Rewriting scripts after living with trauma or abuse. We look at how to accept the trauma as part of your story, but not the whole story. We work together to think about how we can take back control and get to know ourselves authentically now.
Connecting to the Inner Child - caring for and connecting to the first version of you can be life changing. We provide exercises that allow you to soothe them and hear from them.
Stepping Off the Drama Triangle - This is for everyone! How often have we been drawn into a persecutor, rescuer, victim role play with others? Here we look at how to recognise it, and step off the triangle.
